CODE GREEN

Under the umbrella of “Code Green” Viridian has attempted to sensitize the business world to the economic, environmental and social benefits of adopting Green infrastructure, technologies and practices. Through the Mainstream Green philosophy, we aimed to raise awareness and form a medium for communication, so that the community is up to speed on how green, productivity and bottom lines are closely inter-linked. Under the ambit of Mainstream Green, Green Office Effect is an idea that focuses on creating a world with a balanced amalgamation of natural with the mechanical, ideal with the real, where business and the environment work in confluence, not in conflict. It is focused on utilizing lesser energy through a design that optimizes natural light, reducing the need for artificial cooling and heating. It actively consumes less water, power and energy materials, reduces inorganics and minimizes & recycles waste while enhancing employee comfort and leading to productive man-hours. The entire fabric of our business structures is geared towards providing better indoor air quality, productive interiors, connected landscapes and easy access to amenities.

BIO SPACES

The tenets of Mainstream Green are best exhibited in our Bio-atrium: a space that completely relies on passive means to provide a comfortable environment inside the building. The sunlit canopy topped tall open satrium is a brilliantly designed area that focuses on providing a naturally ventilated, climate controlled environment through passive means to reduce reliance on air conditioning. The satrium is covered with plants and green wall to naturally filter the air and control humidity. The stairway functions as a street that goes through the atrium, and the wall has perforations allowing for air flow, with water in the form of mist cooling the space. Screens used on the wall serve as shade, protecting the space from direct sunlight and, thus, heat. In all, it gives a peek into how sustainable architecture can meet our everyday needs in the future without deteriorating the environment or compromising on our comfort level.

STAND TALL

We believe in taking nature into consideration as we rise high. A bioclimatic skyscraper is a concept that makes this possible. Its design in its very essence is an attempt to weave the greens into the vertical landscape to achieve the balance between the natural and mechanical. It offers a unique solution to most problems that businesses face today – reducing energy consumption and improving the quality of life within the building envelope. All while reducing carbon footprint and creating a synergy with the immediate environment. With responsible architecture that aims to achieve the human desire while being sensitive to the immediate environment, we can indeed have structures that can Stand Tall.

TEMPLES OF NEW INDIA

Once, dams and canals were called “The Temples of Independent India”. They were the mark of a progressive and prosperous nation. Today, on the cusp of a new era, another revolution is taking place, transforming India again -- the business, IT and financial revolution. This revolution is fueled by the workplaces of today - “The New Temples of Emerging India”. INTERNATIONALDESIGN COMPETITION

The Spire Tec competition – an architectural design competition – was organized in January - February 2011 . This was one of the first Indian international design competitions organized by the private sector. It had on its jury internationally renowned academicians and practitioners. The competition received a resounding response with 713 registrations from 67 countries, and eventually 201 entries. A final winner was awarded the project. The initiative attempted to identify a contemporary Indian urbanism and create new metaphors for our people and the cityscapes they inhabit through architecture and real estate development. The lively debate and discussion generated during the jury process raised issues beyond the competition and these were taken forward as a ‘Festival of Urbanity’: the ‘India@100 week’ in April 2011 in Delhi.

Flexi Homes is a pioneering concept in housing that gives customers choices that match their needs and aspirations to customize their home as per their lifestyles.

Every family has different needs ranging from space to security and different budgets. To address this particular requirement, Viridian RED conceived Flexi Homes that places the choice in the customers’ hands by allowing them to customize their living spaces to best suit their needs and budgets.

The concept includes choices such as inviting customers to actually design the homes by sharing the type of specifications/layouts and interiors for rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and overall look and feel with the Viridian RED designers; or providing five options in a single segment to choose their dream house according to their own preference. It also gives customers the choice of the most lucrative residential factors - location, typology, etc., and then infuses ' Green Building ' features to reduce costs and maximize efficiency. It thus promotes an architecture that brings about the perfect confluence between the constructed and the natural environmental.

ASPIRE HOMES

“Affordable Housing For All” is a priority of the Viridian Group that intends to promote sustainable development of habitat in the country with a view to ensuring equitable supply of land, shelter and services at affordable prices to all sections of society. Since housing operates in a market, the people with the least resources are those most likely left out of it. As they cannot obtain accommodation through the formal housing markets, and are forced into unfit and inadequate housing systems. The shortage also leads to increasing prices, creating problems in the supply of affordable housing. Viridian RED seeks to address this shortage by providing affordable housing at select locations.
